NAV discount

The NAV discount (substansrabatt in Swedish) is how far an investment company's share price sits below its net asset value per share: the value of its holdings minus net debt, divided by the number of shares. A price above the net asset value is a premium.

Discounts differ by company for lasting reasons, such as the share of unlisted holdings, costs and ownership structure. A discount is therefore best judged against the company's own history, not against other companies.
