Privacy policy

This policy explains how personal data is processed when you use algobee.net, the AlgoBee application, the free screener at screener.algobee.net and AlgoBee Research at research.algobee.net (together, the "Services").

Who is responsible

The data controller is Torus Trading AB (organisation number 556560-4161), Djurgårdsvägen 2, 132 46 Saltsjö-Boo, Sweden. Torus Trading AB develops and operates AlgoBee. Contact us about anything in this policy at info@algobee.net.

What we collect and why

• Account details. First name, last name, email address, your password (stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form) and two-factor settings. We use them to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.
• Exchange and broker credentials. The API keys you add, encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored and never shown again. We use them only to read your accounts and place orders on your instruction. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.
• Data needed to run your strategies. Your strategy settings, and the orders, fills, positions and balances that your connected venues report. AlgoBee stores them only to run your strategies and show you their results. We do not use them for our own trading, and we do not share or sell them. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you.
• Technical logs. IP address, browser type, requested pages, times and error details, recorded by our servers. We use them to keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fix faults. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
• Messages to us. The demo request form does not send anything to us; it prepares an email that you send yourself. When you email us, we keep the message and your contact details to answer it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

The screener and the research site need no account. They record only the technical logs above, and settings such as your cost assumptions stay in your own browser.

Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your session. Your cookie choice is saved in your browser's local storage. We do not currently use analytics or advertising tools. If we add analytics, they will run only if you allow them in the cookie preferences, linked from the footer of our home page. See the cookie policy for details.

Who receives your data

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We share it only with:

• providers that host and run the Services for us, such as hosting and email, under data processing agreements;
• the exchanges and brokers you connect, which receive the orders and requests you instruct AlgoBee to send; their own privacy policies apply;
• authorities, when the law requires it.

Where data is processed

We process personal data within the EU/EEA. If a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Account details, credentials and strategy data are kept while your account is active. When you close your account, we delete them within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer, for example accounting records. Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your personal data, and for it to be corrected, deleted, restricted or moved to another service. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and withdraw any consent you have given. Email info@algobee.net and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).

Children

The Services are for trading and are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data about children.

We will update this page when our processing changes and show the date of the latest version at the top.
